R2R is proud to announce that YOU are invited to a day to learn, share, engage and start solving our climate crisis. Topics covered will include reforestation, regenerative agriculture, soil management, blue carbon, pros and cons of various forms of alternative energy, carbon capture, risks and potential of geo-engineering proposals and individual changes to everyday behaviors and lifestyle.
Register here! To learn about climate change before the event, visit our online resource hub.
Our schedule is as follows: a welcome by UC Irvine Professor and R2R PI Steve Allison and Randall English, President of Newport Bay Conservancy; an introduction by NASA-JPL scientist John Reager; various climate solutions lectures by UC Irvine students, Robert Fofrich, Dianalaura Cueto, David Bañuelas, and Joana Tavares; keynote by CALEJA Green Zones project manager Tiffany Eng; and a panel discussion and Q&A. After the Q&A, join us for food, raffles, poster presentations, and more!
Our conference will bring our community together at Orange Coast College to learn and discuss existing climate change mitigation strategies. Folks will have a chance to attend smaller follow up events and to stay connected through social media.
During the afternoon, we will have exhibits and poster presentations by community college students and graduate students in which the students will interact with the conference attendees directly (science fair style) to share information about climate solutions.
